I'm so glad that your life brought you here to this song. If you like my content, please consider to hit the like button or to follow me. Enough of that now. Here is some background information about the song:

I started writing this song right after I purchased Arturia’s V-Collection which I was dreaming to own for such a long time. So after I finally got it, I started clicking through the presets to get a first idea of what this thing is capable of. After some minutes of playing around I stumbled upon the very first sound that you hear in the song’s intro. It really sounds to me like bubbles of air under water. So I decided to write a water-themed song. After some experimenting with the OP-XA I discovered the large brass preset that almost sounds like a ship’s horn. So it was a no-brainer to use this sound for this song. Further I was listening to a lot of M83 when I wrote this song. They’re regularly using acoustic drums being faded in slowly. I really love this effect for building up tension before the first drop. This is what I did for the intro. The only missing component was a huge mega saw stab to make the song really huge and some impact samples of course. Because I thought this song really needs to take it’s time to develop slowly Drowning ended up being the second song I wrote that is longer than eight minutes.
